What is the difference between this HD Ready kit and the Analog kit?
The HD Ready kit does not include an FPV video system, allowing you to choose and add your own HD system (such as DJI O3 or Walksnail). The Analog kit includes an analog FPV camera and video transmitter. If you already own a DJI O3 or Walksnail system, choose the HD Ready kit.
Is this kit suitable for beginners?
Yes. This kit is designed for all skill levels. All components are pre-selected to work together, eliminating the guesswork of parts compatibility. Joshua Bardwell's full step-by-step build guide series covers assembly, Betaflight setup, radio binding, tuning, and first flight from start to finish.
What additional parts do I need to fly?
This kit includes the drone components only. To fly, you will also need: (1) an FPV video system (DJI O3, Walksnail, or analog VTX+camera); (2) a radio transmitter and compatible receiver; (3) FPV goggles or video receiver; (4) 6S LiPo flight batteries and a battery charger; (5) basic tools for assembly.
What HD FPV systems are compatible with the QAV-S 2 frame?
The QAV-S 2 Joshua Bardwell SE frame supports DJI O3 Air Unit (rear-mount via 25.5mm M1.6 holes), DJI Vista/Walksnail (rear-mount), and HDZero (center-mount with FC or ESC in rear). Analog systems are also compatible.
Are spare parts available if I crash?
Yes. All components included in this kit are available as individual spare parts. The frame, motors, FC, ESC, and propellers can all be replaced independently. SoarSky stocks the key components for long-term support of this build.
