Flysky ProArt PA01 2.4GHz Hall Gimbal EdgeTX ELRS Radio Controller for FPV Drone

Both versions use the same PA01 transmitter hardware with Hall sensor gimbals and EdgeTX firmware. The difference is the internal RF module: the AFHDS 3 version uses Flysky's third-generation AFHDS 3 protocol and is compatible with Flysky AFHDS 3 receivers such as FTr16s and TMr. The ELRS version uses ExpressLRS (ELRS) protocol, which is an open-source long-range RC link popular in the FPV community, compatible with ELRS receivers such as PR01 and PR02. Choose AFHDS 3 if you already use Flysky receivers, or ELRS if you prefer the open-source ecosystem with potentially longer range and lower latency.

These options refer to the throttle gimbal configuration. Left Throttle (Mode 2) places the throttle on the left stick - the most common setup for FPV drone pilots worldwide. Right Throttle (Mode 1) places the throttle on the right stick, preferred by some fixed-wing and traditional RC pilots. Dual-return center throttle means both sticks return to center when released, which is used for acro/racing drones where the pilot wants self-centering on all axes. Choose based on your flying style and existing muscle memory.

The PA01 runs EdgeTX firmware out of the box, giving you access to the full EdgeTX ecosystem including custom model profiles, mixer scripts, Lua scripts, and over-the-air firmware updates via USB Type-C. EdgeTX is the most widely used open-source RC transmitter firmware in the FPV community, with extensive community support, documentation, and customization options.

The PA01 supports 18 channels via the internal RF module, and up to 32 channels when using an external RF module connected via the JR bay. For AFHDS 3 version: compatible with FTr16s, TMr, and all other AFHDS 3 protocol receivers. For ELRS version: compatible with PR01, PR02, and all standard ELRS receivers. The PA01 also supports trainer function via the 3.5mm DSC connector for coach/student setups.

The PA01 is powered by two 18650 LiPo cells (7.4V, not included) installed in the charging base. Battery life depends on the capacity of the 18650 cells used - with standard 3000mAh+ cells, expect several hours of flight session runtime. The transmitter charges via USB Type-C on the charging base. A low-voltage alarm triggers below 7.2V to warn you before the batteries are depleted. We recommend using high-quality protected 18650 cells for best performance.
