Both versions are identical in performance specifications, protocol support, and waterproof rating. The only difference is the antenna length. The Standard 18cm antenna is suited for most RC cars and boats where space is limited and the transmitter is operated at typical racing distances. The Long 35cm antenna provides slightly better signal reception at longer ranges or in environments with more RF interference, making it a good choice for larger scale models or open-water boat use where maximum range is desired.

The FBr8 uses AFHDS 3 (third-generation) protocol exclusively and is compatible with any Flysky transmitter or RF module that supports AFHDS 3, including the Noble NB4, NB4+, NB4 Pro, NB4 Pro+, GT5, and other AFHDS 3 transmitters. It is NOT compatible with older AFHDS or AFHDS 2A transmitters. If you are using an older Flysky system, you will need to upgrade your transmitter to an AFHDS 3 compatible model.

PPX7 is Flysky's proprietary waterproof rating indicating the receiver is protected against water splashes, rain, mud, and brief water contact from any direction. It is designed for RC cars and boats operating in wet conditions. However, PPX7 does not mean the receiver is rated for full submersion like IP67 - avoid prolonged immersion in water. For RC boat use, ensure the receiver is mounted in a position that minimizes direct water exposure.

The FBr8 supports multiple output formats: PWM (up to 8 channels for direct servo connection), PPM (combined signal for flight controllers), i.BUS (Flysky's digital bus protocol), S.BUS (Futaba-compatible digital bus), and i-BUS2 (Flysky's smart protocol for two-way communication with compatible servos like Power HD GTS Series). This makes the FBr8 highly versatile and compatible with most RC car ESCs, servo setups, and aftermarket electronics.

Yes. The FBr8 supports i-BUS2 output, which enables two-way smart communication with compatible i-BUS2 servos such as the Power HD GTS-3, GTS-5, GTS-6, and GTS-7. When connected via i-BUS2, you can monitor real-time servo voltage and temperature data on your compatible Flysky transmitter (NB4 Pro or NB4 Pro+), and remotely adjust servo parameters including stiffness, speed, deadband, and center point directly from the transmitter screen.
