Which motors are compatible with this ESC?
The AXE 5iVE R3 ESC supports only HOBBYWING XeRun AXE 4987 R3S and AXE 4274 R3 series motors. Do not assume other AXE motors are compatible simply because they share the AXE name.
What batteries does the AXE 5iVE R3 support?
This ESC supports 3–8S LiPo batteries and is rated for 220A continuous current and 900A peak current. Verify battery polarity, connector compatibility, and the requirements of your selected motor before connecting power.
Can I adjust the BEC voltage for my receiver and servos?
Yes. The BEC output is adjustable from 6V to 14V and provides 15A continuous output. Set the voltage within the operating limits of every connected receiver and servo. Follow the manual when using an external receiver power supply to avoid feeding a second supply into the BEC circuit.
How do I program the ESC?
Use the HW LINK app on an iOS or Android smartphone to adjust parameters, read ESC data, and update firmware through Bluetooth. Follow the official user manual for throttle calibration, motor rotation, and optional AUX channel setup.
Does this listing include a motor, and will the ESC fit my crawler?
This listing is for the ESC only; a motor is not included. It is designed for 1/5 and 1/6 scale crawlers using a compatible AXE motor. The ESC measures 70.2 × 56.3 × 45.5mm, including the capacitor. Check chassis clearance, mounting space, and wiring access before ordering.

Compatibility & Installation
Use only an AXE 4987 R3S or AXE 4274 R3 series motor. Check chassis clearance, battery compatibility and the voltage ratings of your receiver and servos before installation.
- Remove the motor pinion before calibration or programming, and keep the wheels off the ground when switching on.
- Connect ESC phase wires A/B/C to the corresponding motor terminals. Align the sensor connector arrows and avoid forcing the connector.
- Connect the throttle cable to the receiver throttle channel. Follow the manual when using an external receiver supply; do not feed a second supply into the BEC circuit.
- Verify battery polarity before connection. Set a BEC voltage compatible with all connected electronics.
- Follow the official manual for throttle calibration, motor rotation and optional AUX channel setup.
