Compatibility

The Tr8M is designed for transmitters based on the AFHDS 3 protocol. The supplied FlySky manual lists the PL18 Ultra and PA01 as compatible transmitter examples. It is intended for educational, competition, and recreational models.

Before installation, confirm that your transmitter is configured for AFHDS 3 and that the required output type matches your model’s flight controller, servo, or other connected equipment. The Tr8M is not an AFHDS 2A receiver.

Binding, Firmware & Failsafe

One-Way and Two-Way Binding

The receiver supports one-way and two-way binding. After power-on, it waits for the bound transmitter; if no signal is detected within 2 seconds, it automatically enters binding mode for 3 seconds. The LED flashes quickly during binding, flashes slowly while waiting for connection, and stays solid after a successful connection.

1. Set the transmitter to the required 1 WAY or 2 WAY RF standard and place it in binding mode.
2. Power on the receiver and follow the LED indication for the selected binding process.
3. After binding, confirm that the receiver LED is solid and test the transmitter, receiver, and model before operation.

Firmware Updates

Firmware updates require FlySkyAssistant version 3.0 or later. Updates can be performed after the transmitter and receiver are bound, or by using the receiver’s forced-update procedure described in the supplied manual. Forced update mode uses the CH1 and CH2 signal pins and should only be attempted by users who understand the wiring and safety procedure.

Failsafe Modes

The Tr8M supports No Output, Hold, and Fixed Value failsafe modes. For bus signals such as PPM, i-BUS, S.BUS, and i-BUS2, review the signal-specific failsafe behavior before assigning individual channel settings.

Installation Notes
